Help! Kitten Season Is Here!

4/14/2015

Oscar, Elliott, Mercury, and Blyss (L to R) are all 12 week old kittens looking for new homes! And there are many more kittens soon to come, so keep your eyes on our "Available Cats" section for new additions!

April showers bring May flowers, and lots of kittens! Spring is an incredibly busy time of year for animal rescue. Just yesterday we received calls about 3 different litters of kittens in need of help, so imagine how many more we will get in these next several weeks. Our volunteers work tirelessly to get these babies to safety, nurse them back to health, invest time and money in their care, and find them loving forever homes when the time is right.

Getting through kitten season is exhausting and expensive, and we need as much support as we can rally! Every alteration surgery costs us an average of $50, with additional money spent on vaccinations, antibiotics, flea/tick medication, and basic care supplies (i.e. food, blankets, litter & litter boxes, food & water bowls, etc.). Kittens are still developing their immune systems and are much more likely to be fighting illness, meaning they often need more medication than the average rescue kitty. Kittens also need special formula just like any baby, until they are big enough to start transitioning to regular kitten food. A 12 ounce can of KMR powdered milk for these kitties costs $18.

As we jump head first into kitten season, we ask for your support so that we can assure long, healthy, and quality lives to as many sweet, fluffy little kittens as possible! Please consider making a donation today to sponsor a kitten in need. For just $15, you can feed a litter of kittens! Donate today!
